Command N  (Tokyo, Japan, 2001)

The ‘Command N’ gallery in Tokyo, Japan initiates the Sukima project in 2001. KIT sends in designs and is selected.

The project is to develop designs for architectures that will fit in the gaps or ‘sukima’ between Tokyo’s buildings.

KIT travel to Tokyo and work in the Akihabara precinct of Tokyo, which is awash with electronics stores.

Inflatable structures are designed which will blow up in the spaces between buildings. Images will be printed on them.

The images chosen are taken from the video game Tekken which is highly popular in Akihabara at this time.
