A shipping container is painted the same pantone colour, red, as a ‘Black Box’ recorder from an aircraft.

Inside the C.O.T.I.S. container / ‘Black Box’, the walls, ceiling and floor are all upholstered.

When the door is shut, the audience members who are locked in can see via the light on the ceiling.

The upholstered canvas panels are padded and it's evident that digital images are printed onto them.

The digital images on the walls consist of aerial views of landscapes where planes have crashed.

The audience are locked in the ‘black box’ for 15 minutes where recordings from actual ‘black boxes’ are played to them.

For C.O.T.I.S members, these sites represent sacred burial grounds where the body and technology have fused.

An aerial image of a crash location with the outlines of the crashed planes fragments overlaid onto the image via Photoshop.

At the back of the container a wall mounted lens allows the audience to view a video playing behind the wall.
